I arrived just in time for breakfast, a hot bowl of oats and berries for this chilly winter morning. Betty and Marley chilling out in their pjs and showing me around their family home
I was sure to document those subtle glances and holding hands that these two shared with Mum Yas and each other, everything that makes up their wonderful characters and capture this snippet of time, which seem to fly by so fast. Betty performed for us in the lounge and shared some of her drawings with me, whilst Marley chatted with his mum about Thomas the Tank Engine
Once everyone was suited and booted, and wrapped up warm we headed over to a nearby park to do some exploring
It's such a great opportunity, when doing a lifestyle shoot, to do half your shoot at home and half at an outdoor location. Its a totally different vibe and mixes up the backdrop for the photographs
We didn't spend our time orchestrating cheesy set ups, instead we had a little woodland adventure with some cuddles in between to get the most natural, real and honest photos. I love how every family dynamic is unique, and little ones will have a much better time when the photography is more documentary, and they are not made to pose for ages. The photos we got had so much more meaning and emotion, and everyone could get involved without anybody feeling awkward. They could just be themselves and enjoy this time together. Its not just the photographs that they got to treasure, it was that precious time spent together
